Poseidon Field

Innovative mooring systems designed for extreme ultra-deepwater oceanic currents.

Location Brazil Coast
Depth 1,800m

Stabilizing the Giants

The Poseidon Field project involved the deployment of a massive FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) vessel in an area known for complex loop currents. Our team engineered a unique turret mooring system to ensure stability and operational continuity.

Mooring Specs

  • Lines: 16 Polyester Lines
  • Anchor Type: Torpedo Piles
  • Design Life: 25 Years
  • Max Offset: < 5% of Depth

Logistics

Coordinating the installation required a fleet of 5 anchor handling tugs working in perfect synchronization to tension the lines and secure the FPSO on station.

Environmental Protection

The project adheres to the strictest environmental standards, featuring double-hull storage tanks and advanced produced water treatment systems to protect the local marine ecosystem.
